GARRYCASTLE TOURNAMENT
24/09/2018
Our U12 boys traveled to Mount Temple to play Caulry in the Plate semi-final of the Jim McHugh Memorial Tournament on Wednesday evening. Playing on Caulry's impressive brand new pitch, the hosts raced out of the blocks, and when they led by 1-5 to 0-1 half-way through the first half, things were looking grim for our boys. However, from then on our lads dug deep and reduced the deficit to 4 by half-time. In the second half it became a much closer affair, and with Tubber lads Adam Fox in defence and Enda McLoughlin in midfield to the fore, our boys soon took the lead and then managed to hang on despite desperate attempts by the hosts to rescue the game.
Final score: St Manchan's Gaels 3-08, Caulry 2-09. They will now contest the Plate Final in Garrycastle GAA, when they will face either The Downs or Tubberclair, details to follow.
